What has changed.

I improve the kit now and then, when I learn something that makes it better. Every change is written down here, in plain English. Current version: 1.2.1.

To see which version you have, open the file called VERSION at the top of your kit and compare it with the number above. To get the newest one, use the Get my download again page: it sends a fresh link to the email you bought with.

Copy only the files an entry names. Your notebook (the Vault folder) is yours; an update never replaces it.

If you would like an email when the kit is updated (nothing else, ever), use the optional link in your download email.

Version 1.2.1

Changed

• What the free plan can do is now stated plainly. On the free plan, Claude works as a reader and a helper: you paste or attach a note, it helps, and you save the result into your notebook yourself. Claude's Cowork feature, which can open your notebook folder and save notes into it for you, is on the paid plans only (Pro or higher). The guides that mention the plan (START HERE, guides 1, 2, 3, 4 and 11) now say so.
• A simpler download. The guides, the Vault folder and the changelog now sit together in one folder. There is no language folder to choose.

Removed

• The French edition. It was a machine translation, and having two copies in one download was confusing. The kit is English only.

What to copy, and what to leave alone

• Replace the whole guides folder. Nothing in there is yours.
• Do not touch Vault. Nothing in your notebook changed.

• Guide 11, Using the kit on an iPad (reader and helper). Written from a real test on an iPad with only Obsidian and the Claude app. The short version: on an iPad alone, Claude can read a note you attach and help you write, but it cannot open your notebook or change a note, so you carry things in and paste the answers back. For the full kit, where Claude does the filing, use a Mac or Windows computer. A new file in the guides folder.
• This changelog, and a VERSION file. Your version is the number in VERSION. The newest version is always listed on the website, at the page called Changelog.

What to copy, and what to leave alone

• Add the new guide to your guides folder, and replace 0 - START HERE (it now lists guide 11).
• Do not touch Vault. Nothing in your notebook changed.

Version 1.1

Changes made between 24 September and 29 September 2026. If you bought during that week you may already have some of these.

Added

• A French edition. One download now holds two complete kits, English and Français. Nothing to do.
• Guide 9, Connecting your calendar (optional). Your own appointments only. A new file in the guides folder.
• Guide 10, About the person who made this. A new file in the guides folder.
• Appointments. You can tell the assistant "Add the dentist on the 14th at 2:30 to Coming up", and the opening ceremony will mention it in time.
• A new rule, "go gently when I am overwhelmed". Later reworded as "Remember the bonfire".
• A new rule, "understand my meaning". Includes the phrase "one pager".
• Everyday phrases. A short list of things you can say to the assistant.

• The free Claude plan works. Paid is optional. The guides now say so.
• "Eat the elephant", one bite at a time, is explained in the ceremonies guide.
• The code rule in the accounts guide (guide 8) is now about who called whom.
• A copyright line at the top of the START HERE guide.

What to copy, and what to leave alone

• Replace the whole guides folder (or the English and Français folders of guides). Nothing in there is yours.
• Do not replace Vault. The new Start here note inside it only gained a copyright line; copying that across is optional.
• The new rules live in "Your assistant's instructions". To use them, paste the new instructions into your Claude project, in place of the old ones. Your notes are untouched.

24 September 2026. The first release: the notebook, the setup guides for Windows and Mac, the starter instructions for your assistant, the opening and closing ceremonies, guide 7 (getting things out of your head), and guide 8 (keeping your accounts safe).
